Who is eligible?
Recreation Agencies and Commissions or individuals that are NRPA Public Agency members or:
Recreation Agencies and Organizations that are organizational members of the NRPA with a diversified program of organized sports and non-sports activities are eligible for this program.
Who is insured?
All registered participants, coaches, trainers and managers to age 70 who engage in supervised recreation activities sponsored by your organization will be covered under the policy.
When they are covered?
- managing or participating in scheduled activities sponsored by the member agency; or
- traveling as a member of a group under the supervision of an authorized representative or the member agency.
Accident Medical Expense Benefit
If a covered injury requires treatments by a licensed physician, we will pay, in addition to any other indemnity payable under the policy, the reasonable expense actually incurred by an Insured Person which is in excess of any medical expense benefits paid, payable or for which there is a right under any state or federal law. Such reasonable expenses must be incurred within 52 weeks after the date of the accident. Benefits payable under this provision shall not exceed in the aggregate $15,000 as the result of any one accident to any one Insured person.
- Reasonable Expense means the usual and customary fee or charge for the services rendered and the supplies furnished in the area where rendered or furnished provided such services and supplies are recommended and approved by a licensed physician.
- Benefits are paid on an excess basis to other insurance coverage on the Insured Person which must be used first. In such cases there is no deductible and this insurance will apply to covered expenses no recoverable from other valid and collectible insurance. If the Insured Person is not covered by other insurance, the Excess Provision shall not apply and full benefits are payable as described less a Deductible of $200 per claim.
- Total payments for all expenses incurred, as a result of any one accident, for dental treatment, services and supplies shall not exceed $1,000.
- In order for expenses to be covered, an initial expense must be incurred within sixty (60) days of the accident.
Benefits
If injury shall result in any of the following losses within 90 days of the date of this accident, the Company shall pay the following amounts.

If more than one loss occurs as the result of one accident, only one benefit, the largest shall be payable.
Loss of hand or foot means severance through or above wrist or ankle joint; loss of eye means irrecoverable loss of sight; and loss of thumb and index finger means actual severance through or above metacarpophangeal joints.
Exclusions
- Suicide or attempted suicide by the insured person while sane or self-destruction or attempted self-destruction by the insured person while insane.
- Declared or undeclared war or an act of either.
- Riding as a crew member in any vehicle or device for serial navigation.
- Service in the armed forces of any country.
- Sickness or disease, except pyogenic infections which occur through an accidental cut or wound.
- Expenses incurred for the repair or replacement of existing dentures, braces, fixed or removable bridges or other artificial restoration.
- Injury sustained for which injured person is entitled to benefits under Workers’ Compensation or similar law.
- Expenses incurred for medical or surgical treatment or nursing services rendered by a person retained by the member agency.
- Expenses incurred as a result of the aggravation of an injury sustained prior to the effective date of the insured persons insurance.
- Expenses incurred for the repair or replacement of existing eyeglasses, artificial limbs or orthopedic braces.
- Hernia of any type.
- Injury sustained while practicing or playing Tackle Football, Ice Hockey or Boxing or while Snow Skiing.
Terms of Insurance
Coverage will begin on the desired effective date specified in the applications, or the day following the date the application and check are mailed to Aon Association Services (as shown on the postmark), whichever is later. After becoming effective, coverage will continue in force for one year. Participants entering your plan after the effective date will be covered automatically without additional premium charge until your agency’s annual expiration date.
